I feel like with all the mediums by which to contact a person, a phone call has lost its value.
This becomes especially more valuable when the person is abroad...
Today I got the chance to contact someone that I have communicated with via the internet but whose voice I hadn't heard in a year; what a difference! And even though it was hurried, timed and limited and the connection was really bad (mostly because it was free) it was better than all those small interactions online.
